The world has been thrown into chaos by this disease that knows no boundaries of any kind.
I’ll admit I have some advantages – I was already working from home and living on a tight budget before the virus hit. I've faced lots of challenges, including downsizing from 4 jobs during my career – with no warning and no source of income other than temporary unemployment benefits.
But mostly, I’ve learned from personal experience that things need to break down first – and then something else comes along.
I’ve learned that we aren't really protected by trying to control our surroundings and by legal agreements.
What does protect us – in my experience – is trusting ourselves. A good heart and a desire to live our best self. To recognize how often we have choices and letting our values, not our fears, guide us. To sharing with others. And always, knowing what we already have.
When something breaks apart, there’s a reason for it. Something is out of balance or it has done what it needed to. Everyone and everything transforms or moves on eventually. Something new is coming, if we allow it to. If we don't let our fears take over but instead focus on how things can be better, we'll get through this. So many people are offering help and support. That is what I choose to see.
